Very Brady Finale

The finale of My Fair Brady featured their season-long planned wedding in Joliet, Illinois. The days leading up to the wedding, of course, featured another drunken argument. This time, Chris and his dad got drunk before (and during) a dinner with Adrienne and her dad, two nights before the wedding. The father was horribly rude to Adrienne, basically telling her she would ruin their marriage because she is so "disagreeable," which I interpreted to mean "has an opinion." He also told her that she could not succeed in life because she did not finish high school. Rather than stick up for her, drunken Chris nodded in agreement. He then got very angry because she was "disrespectful" to his father by sticking up for herself. Chris said he might call off the wedding.

The next day, Chris had to make a series of apologies to all of Adrienne's family (and Adrienne) for being such a jerk. After some counseling from their wedding planner (didn't quite get that), they seemed to patch things up. That afternoon, they had a get together for all of the out-of-town guests, including Cindy, Bobby, and Greg Brady. It was cute to see them all together. Chris had a chat with his father about the previous night, and the father said he didn't remember what he said. I think this was a cop out and he just didn't want to own up to it. I don't think he was blackout-level drunk. I don't think he ever apologized to Adrienne, but he did apologize to her mom.

The next day was the wedding. Adrienne looked great and her dress was more traditional than I thought it would be (although still very model-esque). The church did not have air conditioning and everyone was miserably hot because it was over 100 degrees. The ceremony was cute, though, I thought. Adrienne cried throughout her recitation of the vows and Chris smiled the whole way through. Their kiss was way over the top, but very them.

Barry Williams (Greg Brady) sang at the reception, which I thought was sweet. The rest of the reception looked pretty normal, although Adrienne did (accidentally?) flash the camera at one point. As they left the reception, the limo read "I bagged my Brady," which was a variation on the phrase "I'm gonna bag me a Brady," that she used when they were on the Surreal Life together.

It will be interesting to see how their marriage goes. Hopefully there will be a third season so we can watch it.
